Madeira Optics Museum
The Museum of Optics of Madeira presents a collection of devices related to optics, acquired by the owners on their trips around the world, in the last 50 years.
The collection is organized into 10 subcategories such as cameras, film cameras and projectors, binoculars and telescopes, and other objects dating from the 19th century. XVIII and XX.
The museum is located in an old 19th century building, classified as a building of historical and architectural interest, thus maintaining most of the original features of its facade. This building underwent minor restoration works aimed at the requalification of the surrounding area and the said museum.
The collection is arranged in a space with an area of 150m2 which includes a small outdoor garden where visitors can have a cup of tea / coffee.
