The island of Madeira, because of its privileged geographical position and mountainous relief, have a surprisingly mild climate.Very mild average temperatures, 25ºC in the summer and 17ºC in the winter, and a moderate level of humidity, confer upon this island exceptional subtropical features.
The seawater temperature is also very mild, because of the influence of the warm Gulf current, presenting averages of 22ºC in the summer and 18º in the winter.

The municipality of Santana hosts another edition of the Trout Festival/Cider Route, an event that will be held from 25th to 29th May, and which coincides with the Meeting of Cultural Groups in the municipality of Santana.

Machico hosts the 11th edition of the 16th-century Market under the motto " The grain from the Captaincy", an event that evokes the historical period of the discovery of the island, which has gained a prominent cultural status.
This event provides further information on the history of the region during the Age of Discovery and as a result of previous editions, it has received recognition from its public, who travel every year to Machico - Madeira's oldest settlement – to watch performances and to enjoy the activities of a traditional festival.
Portuguese television channel SIC presented its new soap opera, entitled “Rainha das Flores” (Queen of Flowers), in Funchal, on the 30th of April, a story that will unfold between Lisbon, Tomar, The Netherlands and Madeira Island.
