Doca do Cavacas, in Madeira, featured on National Geographic

The Portuguese National Geographic Channel has published on its official Facebook page a photo of the “Doca do Cavacas” swimming pool, located southwest of Funchal. Over the past few days, the photograph raised 2800 “likes” and has been shared over 800 times.
The photo is followed by the description "Formed by volcanic rocks, the swimming pool “Poça do Gomes” [Gomes’ Puddle], in Madeira, was chosen as one of the most exclusive holiday destinations. Did you know that this natural swimming pool was the result of volcanic eruptions, which occurred millions of years ago? Have your already dived in here? How was the experience?”.
These publications promote one of the most iconic bathing areas of Funchal, which annually welcomes thousands of swimmers.
