Covid-19 - Restrictions – Autonomous Region of Madeira
In view of the epidemiological evolution in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, and in accordance with Government Resolution No. 778/2021, of 26th August, the Regional Government of Madeira will maintain the set of preventive measures, already in force, starting from 27th August.
Curfew:
The mandatory curfew will be place between 2am and 5am, including weekends. Only the known essential activities are excluded.
 
Industrial, Commercial and Service Activities:
-  Can remain open until 1am.
 
Restaurants, Bars and Simiilar Establishments:
 
Restaurants
- Can remain open until 1am, with mandatory curfew as from 2am;
- Consumption only allowed when seated;
- Capacity up to 2/3;
- Interior with tables for 6 persons;
- Exterior with tables for 10 persons;
- The use of a mask, sanitizing and social distancing is required.
 
Bars
- Can remain open until 1am, with mandatory curfew as from 2am;
- Consumption only allowed when seated;
- Capacity up to 2/3;
- Interior with tables for 6 persons;
- Exterior with tables for 10 persons;
- The use of a mask, sanitizing and social distancing is required.
 
Games of Fortune or Chance;
Games of Fortune or Chance, Casinos, Bingo or Similar Establishments
- Open until 1am.
 
Tourist Activities:
- Vehicles used in tourist activities carried out by tourist entertainment companies, or by travel and tourism agencies, may transport at full capacity. 
- The same rule applies to maritime tour activities.
 
Bathing Complexes:
- The general rules relating to social distancing, the protection and hygiene of areas, are to be maintained;
-The changing rooms, indoor showers and drinking water fountains will remain closed, as well as the limit relating to the bathing complexes’ capacity (not exceeding one person per four square metres);
- During this bathing season, swimming pools and children’s playgrounds, sports infrastructures, equipment, and floating platforms will reopen, however its use will be naturally limited and subject to the good practices recommended by the health authorities.
 
Shows, Cultural Events and Conferences:
- The maximum capacity is now 2/3 of the venue (indoor and outdoor). Until now it was 50%;
- Events with more than 100 persons require Rapid Antigen testing undertaken up to 48 hours before;
- Mandatory control at the entrance and the validation of tests.
 
Travel between the Islands
(Madeira - Porto Santo and Vice Versa)
- The entrance and exit controls are maintained;
- The green corridor is maintained, by sea and air, for those who have been vaccinated, tested and are recovered in the last 180 days;
- As from 0:00 hours of 21 June, only one TRAG will be required (Rapid Antigen Test undertaken up to 48 hours before), for the remaining travellers;
- Self-tests will not be accepted;
- The use of a mask, sanitizing and social distancing is required.
