The island of Madeira, because of its privileged geographical position and mountainous relief, have a surprisingly mild climate.Very mild average temperatures, 25ºC in the summer and 17ºC in the winter, and a moderate level of humidity, confer upon this island exceptional subtropical features.
The seawater temperature is also very mild, because of the influence of the warm Gulf current, presenting averages of 22ºC in the summer and 18º in the winter.
Madeira needlepoint canvas is, today, an art in extinction. We, Bordal – Madeira Embroidery, decided to present to the public the art pieces we keep and preserve, as well as the history of this art. Above all, we seek to make this cultural heritage known, especially to Madeiran people, because it is part of our history, so that this knowledge does not disappear.
Madeira is taking part in various promotional events in national and international markets, through the Regional Tourism Office of Madeira (DRTM) and in partnership with the Madeira Promotion Bureau (APM).
The Atlantic Festival is an unique event, organized by the Regional Secretariat for Culture, Tourism and Transportation, which combines classical music concerts, firework shows and other art exhibitions as part of the Regional Arts Week.
In the context of diving activity, an innovative new project was begun last year, at the national level, based on "construction" of a subaquatic route known as "Below the Eels", which allows visitors to travel a pre-determined route to observe a specific species of marine fauna and the respective surrounding flora.
