The island of Madeira, because of its privileged geographical position and mountainous relief, have a surprisingly mild climate.Very mild average temperatures, 25ºC in the summer and 17ºC in the winter, and a moderate level of humidity, confer upon this island exceptional subtropical features.
The seawater temperature is also very mild, because of the influence of the warm Gulf current, presenting averages of 22ºC in the summer and 18º in the winter.
On 14 September, FNAC Madeira organizes another Photographic Marathon, aiming to bring together photography enthusiasts in an unique and challenging event, an initiative allusive to the commemorations of the 600 years of the Discovery of Madeira and Porto Santo.
The 15th edition of "Funchal Jazz" will take place at the beginning of July, in a unique setting on the bay of the city, at Santa Catarina Park, bringing together jazz artists from Madeira and renowned national and international groups of this musical style.
From June 8th to 15th, the Diocese of Funchal is promoting 'Jubilee Week', part of the celebrations of its 500th anniversary, which will be attended by the Patriarch of Lisbon and by a Special Envoy from Pope Francis.
Madeira is taking part in various promotional events in national and international markets, through the Regional Tourism Office of Madeira (DRTM) and in partnership with the Madeira Promotion Bureau (APM).
