The island of Madeira, because of its privileged geographical position and mountainous relief, have a surprisingly mild climate.Very mild average temperatures, 25ºC in the summer and 17ºC in the winter, and a moderate level of humidity, confer upon this island exceptional subtropical features.
The seawater temperature is also very mild, because of the influence of the warm Gulf current, presenting averages of 22ºC in the summer and 18º in the winter.
More than a dozen regional, national and international speakers took part in the initiative, which took place on 3 October in the Casino's Blue Room. As part of the Nature Festival, the aim was to exchange the experiences and knowledge of speakers related to the activities that can be practiced in Madeira and Porto Santo throughout the year.
For the second year in a row and for the fourth time since first participating, Madeira Islands has been chosen by the World Travel Awards as Europe’s Leading Island Destination 2017, in what are considered the “Tourism Oscars”.
The museum has more than two thousand pieces originating from all over the world that have been collected by a Madeiran enthusiast over the past 50 years, with the oldest piece dating from the 18th century.
