The “Batucada da Madeira” Association (ABM) was created in 2004, but only in 2018 does it acquire the status of an association.
It has integrated, over the years, the Carnival parades in Madeira, being a driving element of the rhythm of several troupes. Currently, it forms part of the opening of the allegoric parade, along with João Egídio's opening float.
ABM also has an educational aspect, aiming at promoting music amongst those who want to be part of the band.
